Harlequin Desire
A princess and a Southern billionaire are expecting
twins! Only from USA TODAY bestselling author Catherine Mann!

His focus is on his family's football dynasty. Louisiana billionaire Gervais Reynaud has no time for romance. But he can't say no to a tryst with Erika Mitras. True, she's a princess, but in no way prim…or proper.  Their time together is unbelievable…and all too short.

When Erika said goodbye, she meant it. But now she must tell Gervais the truth. He's about to be a father…to royal twins. After leaving her overbearing family, Erika wants nothing from Gervais. But the tempting tycoon just may charm her into a future she desires all too much.

His Pregnant Princess Bride is really a great quick read. I love Catherine Mann's books and this one was no exception. Erika is an exceptional heroine. She's strong and smart and really no nonsense.

She has a fling with Gervais when he was in London a few months prior and she ends up pregnant. In an uncharacteristic move for a Desire Heroine, she actually tells Gervais that she's pregnant. Gervais immediately offers to marry her and she refuses.

I liked how Gervais works to convince her to marry him, and prove there is more to their relationship than sex. I also liked that he wasn't really an alpha male, at least in the usual Harlequin standard of alpha male. Actually if Gervais were alpha, so was Erika, which is really awesome.

My only gripe was about the football team Gervais owns. The story is set in New Orleans. There's already an NFL team there. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I have a hard time when contemporary fiction messes with reality. I would have been ok with this being an arena football team, but The Saints are New Orleans.

That didn't change that I loved the characters and the storyline in general. Another thing that I liked about this book was the lack of the conflict that causes one character to do something stupirud that makes the other run away. It was more an action that caused a wake up moment and boom love, which was really there all along.

This was a fabulous read!

Thank you for joining the blog tour for the first book in Bayou Billionaires!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I smiled at your take on the football issue.... I absolutely understand why that was a sticky point for you and we really weighed how to approach this! Set up a fictional city with a team? We debated that, but while it's easy enough to do a fictional small town, it's hard to getaway with a fictional city big enough to support an NFL team. And we sooo wanted to write an NFL team.

But yes, as a dedicated sports fan myself, I do appreciate what you mean! Thank you for reading and for hosting the tour. I enjoyed the review!
